Series: The Worship of God: A Life Poured Out

Texts: Revelation 4:8–11; 5:11–14 | Matthew 6:10 | John 4:23–24

Big Idea: Worship is not just something we do — it’s a way of living. I live in the Presence of God. He is with me, in me, working through me, and all around me. Everything that God is is in His Presence. This is the reality of Heaven — and it must become the reality of our lives now. This way of living invites us to live every moment fully aware of God’s nearness, fully surrendered to His will, and fully aligned with Heaven on Earth.

I. God is the same in heaven and on Earth - Revelation 4:8–11

Scripture: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.”

Truth Statement: God’s presence isn’t limited by location.

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty…”

“Worthy are You… to receive glory and honor and power…”

- Heaven is full of awe — not because of scenery, but because of God’s glory.

- Worship on earth reconnects us to that same glory.

Point: In a world that dulls our senses, worship awakens us to who God is. It brings heaven’s awareness into the middle of our ordinary lives.

Practical Application: Start your day by acknowledging God’s presence out loud. Before you pick up your phone, say: “God, You are holy, and You are here. You are the same today as You are in heaven. Let me live like that’s true.”

God’s holiness, majesty, and worth are constant.

Worship reveals this unchanging nature to us here and now.

II. When I see God, my priorities change. - Matthew 6:10

Scripture: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Truth Statement: A clear vision of God leads to a reordering of my life.

“Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

- Heaven is fully aligned with God’s will — no confusion, no rebellion, no pride.

- Worship brings submission, surrender, and realignment.

Point: When we worship, we say, “Not my will, but Yours.” We make room for God’s rule in our homes, decisions, attitudes, and desires.

Practical Application: Pick one area of your life this week (finances, relationships, time, decisions) and ask God to align it with His kingdom. Write it down, pray over it daily, and take one step toward that alignment. Ask: “What would this area look like if Heaven ruled here?”

When I truly perceive God’s presence and character, my will surrenders to His Will. Heaven’s values become my guide.

III. God moves in atmospheres. - Revelation 5:11–14

Scripture: “To Him who sits on the throne… be blessing and honor and glory…”

Truth Statement: God responds to honor. When we create space for Him, He fills it.

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…”

- Heaven is filled with peace, power, joy, and reverence.

- Worship isn’t an escape — it’s an encounter with what’s most real and eternal.

Point: Everything He is is in His Presence. You can experience heaven — not just later, but now:

- In your pain (peace comes)

- In your confusion (clarity comes)

- In your weakness (strength comes)

- In your chaos (order comes)

Practical Application: Take 5 minutes each day to intentionally cultivate God’s atmosphere in your home or personal space:
- Turn on worship music
- Speak praise aloud
- Read a Psalm and personalize it

Heaven is filled with reverence, joy, unity, and power. God inhabits environments where He is exalted. We must cultivate this atmosphere daily.

IV. Life comes into focus by the Sacrifice of Jesus. - Revelation 5:9

Scripture: “You are worthy… for You were slain, and purchased people for God…”

Truth Statement: When I look at the cross, I see who I really am and what truly matters.

“You are worthy… for You were slain…”

- Heaven celebrates Jesus — not just His power, but His sacrifice.

- Worship is our response to the Lamb who was slain — our Redeemer.

Point: True worship is not emotionalism — it’s gratitude, surrender, and devotion because of the cross.

Practical Application: Spend 10 minutes this week meditating on the cross. Write down:
- What Jesus paid for in your life
- What He saved you from
- What He’s calling you toward

The cross clarifies everything: who we are, what we’re worth, and why we worship. Jesus’ sacrifice defines our reality.

V. The Door is open...You can experience Heaven starting now. - John 4:23–24

Scripture: “True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth… the Father seeks such people…”

Truth Statement: Heaven is not far away — it’s one surrendered moment away.

- You don’t have to wait for heaven to begin experiencing eternal life.

- Every act of surrender, praise, obedience, and love draws heaven near.

Point: God has removed every barrier and His invitation is to anyone.

Practical Application:

Practical Ways to Bring Heaven into Your Everyday:

- Invite God’s presence into your morning and mindset

- Turn moments into altars — worship at home, work, driving, parenting

- Practice surrender — make space for God’s will

- Live as a priest — worship and intercede for others

- Honor the Lamb — live cross-shaped lives

Final Invitation:

Ask yourself:

- Are you aware of heaven’s presence with you now?

- Are you making space for worship daily?

- Are you aligning your life with God’s heart?

Declare: “Lord, let Your kingdom come, and Your will be done — in me, through me, around me — just as it is in heaven.”
